Description

Who are we? About GroundworkEstablished in 1991, Groundwork North Wales works to transform lives in disadvantaged communities through a diverse range of programmes across North Wales under the themes of People, Places, and Planet. Our main impact goals are to bring improved prospects and wellbeing for people, enhance and protect green and blue spaces for people and nature, preserve heritage and build a sense of community and place, and protect the planet against the negative impacts of unsustainable behaviours and climate change.Through our ‘People’ focused projects we support people to get back into work and gain skills and qualifications through training and employability programmes, including a full suite of accredited training courses and Adult Community Learning opportunities. Income from training is reinvested back into our charitable work to benefit communities. We offer a range of wellbeing activities and volunteering opportunities for all sectors of the community.Through our ‘Places’ projects we build stronger communities by championing nature conservation, and empowering people to improve their local green and blue spaces and connect with nature and local heritage.Through our ‘Planet’ projects we protect the planet with practical action to reduce waste and combat climate change. We achieve this by promoting the benefits of reuse/recycling and conserving the natural environment: through households goods reuse, repair and upcycling activities, community fridge initiatives and awareness raising campaigns.About this contractWe have secured funding from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund for our Community Engagement project, which aims to increase the proportion of those people in Wrexham who are eligible for funded personal development, training and skills programmes to take up the opportunities available. We are the lead provider for Adult Community Learning through the Welsh Government Adult Community Learning Grant in and have access to funding for provision for learners aged 19+ from the hardest to reach communities in Wrexham, for the delivery of embedded essential skills (numeracy, literacy, digital), employability and family learning courses. We are well known for our ability to provide alternative provision that does not duplicate existing provision but meets the needs of the hardest to reach communities, progressing them on their learner journey. The chosen supplier for this contract will be required to produce up to 10 Learner Voice case studies for learners in Wrexham.USEFUL RESOURCES:https://www.groundworknorthwales.org.uk/about/our-values-and-strategy/https://www.groundworknorthwales.org.uk/about/annual-impact-report-2024/
