As part of the LleCHI LleNI project, Cyngor Gwynedd is looking to appoint an organisation or company to help deliver its Young Slate Ambassadors scheme. The scheme was piloted between 2018 and 2021 as part of Llechi Cymruâs previous LleCHI project. The purpose of the scheme is to engage with 13-16 year olds living in the communities closest to the Slate Landscape of Northwest Wales WHS, in order to raise their awareness of slate heritage, to provide them with new opportunities and to develop their skills and confidence. It is intended that the sessions will be an opportunity for young people to socialise while learning in an engaging and inspiring non-educational setting. The scheme will involve organising and holding 8 outdoor or on-location/site visit experiences per year of the project for the young people to learn about slate heritage and take part in an activity. A further two digital sessions will be organised and financed separately by the Llechi Cymru team and will not require input from the successful applicant though the content of planned sessions will be shared for information and to ensure a consistent approach. It is expected that the sessions will focus on outdoor activities and projects related to heritage, history, archaeology and the historic landscape as well as developing skills and opportunities for young people through heritage.
