IntroductionThe All Wales Induction Framework (AWIF) for early years and childcare managers is a set of standards derived from the mandatory learning outcomes of the Level 4 Preparing for Leadership and Management and the Level 5 Leadership and Management of Childrenâs Care, Play, Learning and Development qualifications.The AWIF is a structured framework designed to support the induction of workers new to early years and childcare roles in Wales. It provides a foundation for developing the skills, knowledge, and values needed to deliver high-quality care and support.The AWIF consists of two parts (A&B). This project will focus only on Part A which centres on the knowledge that new workers need to understand before practicing safely and effectively in health and social care settings. It provides a structured approach to learning key concepts, values, and responsibilities required in their role.BackgroundThis project will run alongside the pilot programme to support the implementation of the AWIF and conduct discovery work to identify any digital product needs.The pilot involves working with four local authorities to establish standardised approaches for quality assurance (QA) of completed frameworks, identifying best practices and areas for improvement. Alongside this, the discovery phase will assess how pilot areas are currently using the Word document version of the framework and explore whether a digital solution could enhance user engagement and experience, informed by insights from the pilot.If both the pilot and Phase 1 (discovery) confirm the need for a new resource, we will move to commission a Phase 2 â Development.
