    "description": "Contractor will need to take full responsibility for the design and construction, including any required consents/ approvals, constraints and stakeholder management applicable for the various crossings.\r\n\r\nWorks will include, but not be limited to, the following:\r\n\r\nLaunch/ Reception Pit/Shaft\r\nDesign and excavation, including all appropriate Temporary Works Design and approvals for the launch/ reception pits.  Shafts are temporary and does not need to be accessible on completion of the works.\r\n\r\nHDD\r\nRequirements for Design Pricing by contractor\r\n\r\n\u2022\tDetail Design of launch and reception pits including relevant calculations to support CD622 application to Highways England.\r\n\u2022\tDetail Design of the pipeline crossing including long sections and explanation/justification for choice of tunnelling method.\r\n\u2022\tDesign of all temporary works associated with the installation including relevant checks and approvals.\r\n\u2022\tDesign Liaison to support application queries etc.\r\n\r\n\u2022\tMobilization of required plant \u0026 material including any associated traffic orders.\r\n\u2022\tProvision of temporary welfare at both work sites for own workforce.\r\n\u2022\tProvision and installation and removal of all temporary works associated with the construction.\r\n\u2022\tInstallation of launch pit including plant, labour and materials.\r\n\u2022\tInstallation of reception pit including plant labour and materials.\r\n\u2022\tInstallation of various trenchless techniques (HDD/ Auger/ Micro) to achieve the desired results, including all as-builts and records.\r\n\u2022\tSupply of PE pipe as required.. \r\n\u2022\tRemoval and storage of arisings from excavations.\r\n\u2022\tDisposal of arisings from excavations.\r\n\u2022\tBackfill and reinstatement of excavations.\r\n\u2022\tRemoval and disposal of any excess backfill and waste materials resulting from the installation.\r\n\u2022\tProvision of and disposal of all bentonite slurry.\r\n\u2022\tDewatering.\r\n\r\nAdditional information: The Lower Thames Crossing (LTC) is a new road to better connect Essex and Kent through a tunnel beneath the River Thames.
