    "description": "Summary and background \r\n      \r\n      The supply of a medium resolution Digitial Elevation Model (DEM)/Digital Terrrain Model (DTM) coverage is required to inform the landscape modelling of fire and carbon dynamics in Madagascar.  The coverage required will extend across a section of the central highlands of Madagascar.   The target area will be centered on the Massif d\u0027Itremo Protected Area, southeast of the major city of Antsirabe. \r\n      \r\n      The DEM/DTM product is an input to a six-year UK government (Defra) major project examining a series of interventions to support and assist Madagascar-based institutions to more effectively manage  protected areas, conserve Madagascar\u0027s unique endemic biodiversity, explore how terrestrial carbon can be retained  and uplift local communities living near the protected areas through sustainable livelihood support.   The requirements for this product are based on the needs of the objectives identified within the modelling approach and the outputs linked to the research activity within the project.\r\n\r\nAdditional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.",
