    "description": "Raunds Town Council is inviting tenders from experienced and competent contractors for the provision of Christmas lights display services across the town centre. This contract includes the supply (hire and/or installation), testing, maintenance, removal, and storage of festive lighting for the Council\u0027s annual Christmas Lights Switch-On event and wider seasonal display.\r\n\r\nThe contract will commence in January 2026 and the Council invites quotations for both a three-year term (2026-2028) and a five-year term (2026-2030). Tenderers must submit pricing for both durations to enable the Council to assess best value.\r\n\r\nThe successful contractor will be responsible for:\r\n\r\nPlanning and installing Christmas lighting across designated areas of Raunds, including the Town Hall, Saxon Hall grounds, Brook Street, High Street, and the Town Square.\r\n\r\nPAT testing, maintenance, and annual safety inspections (including anchor bolt load testing).\r\n\r\nSupplying rented lighting displays for 16 lamp columns (12 single, 2 double, 1 feature).\r\n\r\nStorage of council-owned lighting displays.\r\n\r\nAttendance at the Christmas Lights Switch-On Event (last Sunday in November).\r\n\r\nEnsuring compliance with BS 7671 wiring regulations and relevant HSE guidance.\r\n\r\nProviding fault repair services during the operational period.\r\n\r\nSafe dismantling and storage/removal of lighting following the festive season (by 18 January each year).\r\n\r\nThe contractor is expected to work closely with Council officers, provide creative input, ensure energy efficiency, and propose alternative display designs annually, if requested.\r\n\r\nThe tender is being run using an open procedure, and all interested parties are invited to apply.\r\n\r\nHow to apply:\r\n\r\nInterested contractors must:\r\n\r\nComplete the official application form (available in the tender pack).\r\n\r\nProvide designs and cost matrices for both the 3-year and 5-year terms.\r\n\r\nSubmit all required documents including insurance certificates, health \u0026 safety policy, and references.\r\n\r\nAttend a mandatory site visit (available between 4th August and 5th September 2025).\r\n\r\nDeadline for submissions:\r\n12:00 PM (noon), Friday 12 September 2025\r\nLate submissions will not be considered.\r\n\r\nSubmission method:\r\nAll applications must be submitted by email to: clerk@raunds-tc.gov.uk\r\nSubject line: Christmas Lights Tender\r\n\r\nFor any clarification questions, contact the same email address by the date specified in the tender documents.",
