    "description": "Homes England is seeking to appoint a competent Supplier to design and build a new sports and social facility at the former Whittingham Hospital site, Preston, PR3 2JE. \\r\r\n\\r\r\nThe scheme will see major redevelopment of the existing Whittingham and Goosnargh Sports and Social Club (WGSSC), once the staff club when the hospital was in use. Works will see delivery of new clubhouse, 11 a-side football pitch, Multi Use Games Area (MUGA), caravan/camping area, car parking and associated ancillary landscaping. The established bowling green will be retained within the scheme.\\r\r\n\\r\r\nThe Works comprise but are not limited too the following:\\r\r\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tPhasing arrangements as outlined in the tender documents\\r\r\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tGround improvement works for new clubhouse and kiosk building foundation\\r\r\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tMaintain existing services during the works and provision of all incoming services\\r\r\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tStructure for the new clubhouse and external terrace area including provision of a canopy\\r\r\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tConstruction of retaining walls, stairs and provision of step free access (i.e. ramps)\\r\r\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tInstallation of surface and foul drainage and connection to the surrounding drainage network\\r\r\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tExternal cladding and finishes and internal structures, finishes, fixtures and fittings\\r\r\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tProvision of mechanical and electrical services including PV panel installation\\r\r\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tDelivery of an 11 a-side grass football pitch and Multi Use Games Area (MUGA)\\r\r\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tCaravan and main car park construction including road markings and lighting \\r\r\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tExternal works including waste collection and elsan point construction, cycle parking facilities\\r\r\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tProvision of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging facility and pop-up electric sockets for caravan park\\r\r\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tConstruction of new kiosk building, storage and away team shelter for bowling club\\r\r\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tNew storage facility with grass cutting shelter for the club\\r\r\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tProvision of a play area with natural timber pay equipment\\r\r\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tHard and soft landscaping as specified\\r\r\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tSite clearance and disposal of items as specified\\r\r\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tDemolition of the existing clubhouse and remediation of the ground post demolition\\r\r\n\\r\r\nPlease note the 36 month contract duration stated in this notice is the construction phase of 12 months, plus the longest defects period of 24 months.  \\r\r\n\\r\r\nThe tender deadline has now been extended to 2pm, Friday 25 October 2024.\r\n\r\nAdditional information: \r\nThe opportunity can be accessed via the Homes England eTendering system.
