    "description": "National Highways is looking for the provision of technical support services to provide technical assurance and advice, including the review of Departures from Standards and applications for non-prescribed traffic sign Authorisations.\r\nThe overarching objective of this Work Package is to assist the Safer Roads Design (SRD) team in its delivery of key performance measures through a \u0027right first time\u0027 approach.  This will be achieved through the following:\r\n-\tReviewing departures from standards relating to road geometry and traffic sign/signal/VMS gantry positioning and providing a recommendation to the relevant SRD team specialist/Authorising Signatory within agreed timescales and to the required high quality;\r\n-\tSupporting the SRD team Designated Responsible Officers and other SRD team specialists by reviewing applications for non-prescribed traffic signs in accordance with the Department for Transport (the department) and National Highways procedures, within agreed timetables; \r\n-\tProviding specialist technical advice to support Operations Directorate, Major Projects, Service Providers, and the UK construction industry and facilitating external support where required to provide national expert guidance, and\r\n-\tActing as a trusted business partner to internal and external clients and our customers by providing timely, high-quality advice on road safety issues.",
