    "description": "Unite Procurement UK Limited (part of Unite Holding SE), on behalf of the Ministry of Defence, is seeking suppliers to join the Mercateo Procurement Platform to support the provision of a CNC Fiber Laser Cutter (Photon Flex 3 KW, 3x1.5m)\r\n\r\nThe Mercateo Procurement Platform\r\n(www.mercateo.co.uk) offers a compliant route to market for UK Public Sector organisations to manage low-value, high-volume procurement.\r\n\r\nWe are seeking to procure a CNC Fiber Laser Cutter (Photon Flex 3 KW, 3x1.5m), complete with integrated fume extraction and chiller unit. This equipment will be used in the manufacture of parts for armoured vehicles and armour applications, where high precision and reliability are critical.\r\n\r\nKey Requirements:\r\nCNC Fiber Laser Cutter, Photon Flex 3 KW, bed size 3x1.5m\r\nIntegrated fume extraction system\r\nChiller unit for operational stability and safety\r\nInstallation, commissioning, and initial training\r\n\r\nSecurity and Sourcing:\r\nDue to the sensitive nature of the end use and security considerations, priority will be given to UK-based suppliers and manufacturers. This requirement arises from the need to ensure supply chain integrity and reduce dependency on overseas sources.\r\n\r\nBackground:\r\nThe laser cutter will be a key asset in producing high-quality, precision components for armoured vehicles and protective armour. Suppliers must be able to demonstrate experience in delivering and supporting advanced manufacturing equipment for defence or similarly regulated sectors.\r\n\r\nHow to Apply\r\nInterested suppliers should register their interest by contacting Unite Procurement UK Limited and provide details of their product range, modification capabilities, and maintenance services. Instead, multiple suppliers may be onboarded to the Mercateo Procurement Platform to ensure a diverse and competitive supply base, supporting flexibility and choice for the Ministry of Defence and associated organisations.\r\n\r\nSuppliers are encouraged to express their interest by the stated closing date to ensure early consideration. However, applications to join the Mercateo Procurement Platform will be welcome at any time beyond the initial deadline.
