    "description": "North Somerset Council require a contractor to deliver refurbishment and new development works to heritage buildings at the mainland end of Birnbeck Pier in Weston Super Mare.\\r\r\n\\r\r\nIt is intended for the Birnbeck 2A Landward Works to commence in February 2025. The successful bidder will need to work within the constraints of the site in close coordination with other contractors working on the wider Birnbeck project.\\r\r\n\\r\r\nThe works in scope are as follows:\\r\r\n\\r\r\nLandward Enabling Works:\\r\r\n- Site setup to include provision of welfare, temporary service connections, renewal of hoarding and site boundary fencing installation.\\r\r\n- Site wide clearance and salvage, protect and record including removal and storage of the Historic Gate Line.\\r\r\n- Repair/reinstatement of sea wall including steel beam replacement.\\r\r\nExternal Repairs:\\r\r\n- Pier View repairs and refurbishment.\\r\r\n- South Toll House \u0026 Shell Shop repair and refurbishment.\\r\r\nRefurbishment:\\r\r\n- Pier Masters Cottage repair and refurbishment.\\r\r\n- Demolition of Pier Cottage existing Northern Extension.\\r\r\nNew Development:\\r\r\n- Pier Master\u0027s cottage caf\u00e9 extension.\\r\r\n- WC block with bin and cycle store.\\r\r\n- New service connections and landside external lighting.\\r\r\n- Landscaping of landward site.\\r\r\n\\r\r\nEscorted site visits are to be conducted on 29 October and 06 November 2024 details are noted in the Invitation to Tender, Vol 1 - Instructions for Tendering document.\\r\r\n\\r\r\nDocuments can be found and downloaded from the Supplying the South West portal - https://procontract.due-north.com/Advert?advertId=c431f214-2f82-ef11-8130-005056b64545\u0026p=696a9836-1895-e511-8105-000c29c9ba21\\r\r\n",
