    "description": "The Council is procuring a contract to undertake the \r\nreconstruction of a section of retaining wall at Lancaster \r\nStreet, Carlisle. O.S. grid Co-ordinates 340443E; 555372N. \r\nThe works require a section of retaining wall approximately \r\n27m in length and 1.5m in height of retaining wall to be taken \r\ndown and reconstructed/ realigned as indicated on drawing \r\nDwg-01-Lancaster Street RW. The existing stone is to be set \r\naside for re-use and where replacement stone is required it \r\nmust match the surrounding masonry as closely as possible. \r\nThe existing parapet railings are to be refurbished and \r\nreinstalled. The perforated drainage pipe behind the retaining \r\nwall is to be connected to the existing gully. The cobbled \r\nsurface on Lancaster Street is to be reinstated to existing \r\nlevels.  \r\nCumberland Council have arranged a GPR survey to be \r\nundertaken to accurately locate services and the report will be \r\nshared with the contractor. \r\nA road closure permit for Lancaster Street and Crown Street \r\nto complete the works has been obtained by Cumberland \r\nCouncil.  The closure commences on Monday 10th March \r\n2025 for a duration of up to 6 weeks concluding Thursday \r\n17th April 2025.  \r\nA key objective is to limit disruption to local residents, \r\nbusinesses and members of the public during the works, any \r\nroad closures should be kept to a minimum. \r\nThe Contractor shall also be responsible for procuring and \r\nmanaging all traffic management, which is to be agreed upon \r\nwith the Employer\u0027s Highway Network Manager.",
