    "description": "This contract is essential for Highways Maintenance team to deliver statutory duties, including:\\r\r\n- minor maintenance works;\\r\r\n- minor coated macadam patching and pothole reinstatement to carriageways and footways;\\r\r\n- relaying and replacing slabs;\\r\r\n- relaying and replacing kerbs and channels;\\r\r\n- adjusting boxes;\\r\r\n- fixing and adjusting small signs;\\r\r\n- cutting and trimming trees, hedges and shrubs;\\r\r\n- removing obstructions from the highway;\\r\r\n- providing assistance to the emergency services;\\r\r\n- reacting to civil contingencies which may include severe weather events and oil spills;\\r\r\n\\r\r\nThe contract is intended to last for an initial 8 year period with two optional 2 year extensions.\\r\r\n\\r\r\nEstimated value is \u00a32million per annum (up to \u00a316million for the initial period and up to \u00a324million if all extension exercised).",
