    "description": "National Highways is aiming to make a step change in the use of technology for managing its structures assets. The underlying ambition of this initiative (known as \u0027Structures Moonshot\u0027) is to reduce human intervention on site, facilitate automated inspections/remote monitoring and facilitate decision making supported by artificial intelligence and machine learning. Initially, the focus for this work was post-tensioned concrete structures, which were recognised as requiring a greater level of scrutiny than most other structure types. As the project has developed the scope has been broadened to include other structures, particularly those categorised as \u0027Priority Risk\u0027 structures within the business, including structures with half-joints and structures with deck hinges. The objective is to facilitate the use of emerging technologies (used remotely where possible) to provide reliable condition data enabling better informed decisions and appropriate interventions at the optimum time.",
