    "description": "Walsall Council is looking to appoint a single competent contractor to make improvements to a number of park areas within the \u0027Bloxwich \u0026 Leamore  Parks\u0027 project.  The works will include sport, play, hard and soft landscaping to enhance the experience for Walsall residence. \r\n      \r\n      The Bloxwich \u0026 Leamore Parks project is split into 4 locations; \r\n      \r\n      Bloxwich: \r\n      \r\n      o Bloxwich Park \r\n      o Memorial Gardens - Pat Collins \r\n      o Promenade Gardens \r\n      \r\n      Leamore: \r\n      o Leamore Park \r\n      \r\n      As there will be a number of parks redevelopment schemes being carried out within the Bloxwich area during similar periods the works will need to be phased, with Bloxwich taking precedent then Leamore.\r\n      \r\n      Bloxwich Park \u0026 Memorial Gardens - Sport, play, hard and soft landscaping improvements to all 3 sites aims to: \r\n      \r\n      o Add colour, interest, and seasonal variety to the backdrop of Bloxwich Park to increase overall amenity value \r\n      o Activate a sense of play within the park, upgrading the existing play space with imaginative/ interpretative and formal play based upon the Pat Collins Funfair themed colours.\r\n      o Pathway upgrades to allow for enhanced circulation routes, sense of safety and spatial hierarchy, together with additional seating etc. \r\n      o Reduce the maintenance need of amenity grass to encourage and improve biodiversity value \r\n      o Increase a sense of safety and time spent within the park \r\n      o Enhance connection to local history/cultural activities \r\n      \r\n      Leamore Park - Sports, play, hard and soft landscaping as improvement aims to:\r\n      o Provide a playground catering for all ages of children based on the theme of \u0027The Sea\u0027 providing local school children with the experience of visiting and playing at the seaside.   \r\n      o Reduce maintenance of mown grass areas \r\n      o Increase a sense of safety and time spent within the park \r\n      o  Provide space for the local children to play and adults to exercise through an upgraded walking and running surface of the \u0027Golden Mile\u0027 within the park. \r\n      o Hard and soft landscaping improvements, together with the planting of new trees and    shrubs\r\n      o  New seating and lighting to improve the security and feeling of the park\r\n      o  Relocated Davey Lamp sculpture \r\n      \r\n      The route to market being used is a mini competition under the Pagabo Dynamic Purchasing System for Small Works. The framework fee applicable to is 1.5% which is charged monthly. \r\n      \r\n      The works are to be procured via a single stage tender process.",
