These surveys may also be used in the future to apply for funding via the Salix Low Carbon Skills Fund (LCSF) or the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS). \r\n\r\nThe council is committed to be carbon neutral by 2030 and decarbonising its buildings plays a big part in that goal.  Currently the building portfolio is difficult to decarbonise due to the majority of the buildings being heated by gas boilers which are relatively modern.  Modern boilers are not eligible for government funding and therefore progress on decarbonising the estate has been slow.",
