    "description": "The contractor will be responsible for maintaining all designated areas to a high standard to ensure they are safe, clean, and esthetically pleasing. Twyford Parish Council is committed to the environment.  The Council will expect the Contractor to work in a collaborative partnership and ensure environmentally friendly \npractices are adopted in the application of their contract.\nGrounds Maintenance Scope of Work\nThe contractor shall provide grounds maintenance services at the following locations:\nKing George V Recreation Ground (KGVR), RG10 9JA\nLondon Road allotments, RG10 9AX\nHurst Road allotments, RG10 9NT\nTwyford Parish Burial Ground, RG10 9NT\nStanlake Meadow, RG10 0BL\nBell Corner, RG10 9NY\nPolehampton Corner, RG10 9AE\nJubilee Corner, RG10 9JQ\nServices Required\nThe following services are required as part of the grounds maintenance contract:\n1. Grass cutting\n19 cuts which equates to 1 cut in March and then fortnightly through to the end of November. \n1.2\t KGVR playground grass - Cut and drop. Strim boundary and around equipment etc\n1.3\t Grass Cutting at Parish Burial Ground - Cut and remove cuttings including the copse area. Strim boundary and around graves etc\nOption for weekly cuts at Stanlake Meadow \u0026 KGVR  in September and October of the pitch area (used when weather is mild and grass is growing quickly). \nEdges along paths, fences, and flower beds should be trimmed and left tidy after each mowing.\nCare to be taken around the grass areas left long for environmental reasons.\n2. Hedges and strimming\nHedges should be trimmed in compliance with local wildlife protection guidelines. \nHedges and surrounding areas should be left tidy.\n2.1\tOne complete cut each of the large boundary hedges in KGVR and Stanlake Meadow.\n2.2\tFacing up of the Waltham road hedge, KGVR path hedge and Hurst Road allotments in ~ June\n2.3\t2 cuts of the allotment hedges and the Waltham road layered hedge.\n2.4\tWargrave Road footpath - strim (June and October)\n2.5\tWargrave  Road footpath hedge - face and top annually plus 2x face up\n2.6\tLondon Road Footpath - strim (June, July \u0026 October)\n2.7\tLondon Road allotment conifer hedge - face and top annually plus 1x face up\n2.8\tKGVR playground hedges\t- hand cut (June, July \u0026 October)\n2.9\tHurst Road Allotments - Strim hedge-line carpark and inside road boundary (June, July \u0026 October)\n2.10\tBurial Ground Beech Hedge - trim both sides and top (October)\n3. Pitch renovation\nAnnual fertilise, vertidrain, overseed and weed treatment of 7 pitches.\n[KGVR - tennis court pitch, scout hut pitch and 2 junior pitches. Stanlake meadow - clubhouse pitch, Stanlake Lane pitch \u0026 cricket outfield]\n[Note: at present only 3 pitches have vertidrain treatment and 3 are overseeded]\n4. Pitch Markings \nInitial marking of 7 pitches plus 3 mini pitches and fortnightly remarking through the football season\nSummer Running Track (200m 4 lane oval) at KGVR\n5. Shrub and Flower Bed Maintenance\n[Jubilee Corner, Polehampton corner, millennium Garden and burial ground garden]\nBeds must be weeded monthly to keep them clear of invasive species.\nPruning of shrubs should be done to maintain shape and health, and any damaged or dead plants should be removed.\n6. Village weed spraying\nHerbicide spray 3 x a year:\nHurst Road allotments communal area\t\nKGVR Playground paths\nLoddon Hall carpark along the fence line\nBell Corner\nJubilee Corner\nBurial ground paths\n7. Wildflower Meadows\nAreas in KGVR \u0026 Stanlake Meadow - hay cut (September / October time) and collection 2 weeks later\n8. Health and Safety\nThe contractor must adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, including those for equipment operation and waste disposal.\nMaintain risk assessments, insurances and safe working procedures for all tasks.\nEnsure all workers are appropriately trained and equipped with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).\n9.  Environmental Considerations\nMinimize the use of pesticides and fertilizers and adopt eco-friendly practices wherever possible.\n10. Reporting and Communication\nOngoing reporting on work completed, issues encountered, and any recommendations for improvement.\nImmediate communication of any urgent matters that require the Council\u0027s attention.\n11. Payment and Performance Review\nPayments will be made monthly upon submission of an invoice.\nThe Council will conduct periodic reviews of performance standards and reserves the right to address any deficiencies with the contractor.\nThis specification provides a basic outline, which may need adjustments based on local requirements, seasonal variations, and specific expectations of the parish council.\nWillingness to quote for additional ad hoc work as required.\nWillingness to work with the Twyford and Ruscombe Cricket Club to maintain the cricket pitch under a separate arrangement if required.",
