    "description": "The University of Salford invites suitably qualified and experienced contractors to submit tenders for the inspection, testing, servicing, and maintenance of emergency lighting systems across the University estate. This contract will be for 3 years with the option to extend a further 1 year subject to both parties agreeing.\nThe appointed contractor must comply with all relevant UK legislation, including:\n\u2022\tHealth and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974\n\u2022\tRegulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005\n\u2022\tBS 5266 series for emergency lighting\n\u2022\tElectricity at Work Regulations 1989\n\u2022\tProcurement rules under the Procurement Act 2023\n\u2022\tIET Wiring Regs BS 7671\nScope of Works\nThe contractor will be responsible for:\na)\tRoutine inspection and testing of emergency lighting systems\nb)\tRectification of faults subject to approval from the University.\nc)\tPlanned preventive maintenance (PPM) in accordance to SFG20 schedules \nd)\tAsset tagging and register update with photographs of each asset \ne)\tReporting and certification in accordance with current British Standards\nTypes of systems include (but are not limited to):\na)\tSelf-contained (single point) luminaires\nb)\tCentral battery systems\nc)\tEmergency conversion kits\nd)\tMaintained and non-maintained units\ne)\tExit signage",
