These processes are inherently slow, prone to error and resource intensive. \nThese workflows and systems, therefore, are not fit for purpose in a top modern university seeking to be more agile and will act as a significant barrier to the delivery of the Connected Curriculum which is central component of the refreshed 2030 university strategy.\u202f \nObjectives :\nCreating a Single Source of Truth\u202f \nImprove course accuracy\u202f \nImprove data and insight\u202f \nImprove downstream processes\u202f \nCreate an Auditable Approval and review process\u202f \nReduce manual effort and duplication\u202f \nImprove reporting and governance\u202f \nInstitutional Agility\u202f \nAllows curriculum to adapt more quickly and efficiently through streamlined processes\u202f \nImprove course speed of creation\u202f \nImproved regulatory compliance\u202f \nCurrent Challenges :\nFragmented processes and duplicated data entry. \nLimited visibility of Course/module approval status. \nCompliance risks with regulatory frameworks. \nSlow adaptation to curriculum changes requests. \nHigh-Level Requirements/What we are looking for:\nHigh Level Functional Requirements :\nCurriculum Lifecycle Management \nCentralised workflows for new course design, approval, modification, and retirement. Features should include:\u202f \nConfigurable template and data schema structure, applicable at course and module level.\u202f \nData validation that can be applied in a configurable manner.\u202f \nNotification and sharing - The solution shall provide automated messaging to key stakeholders through the validation cycle for sign-off/approval/review.\u202f \nCourse review (usually done on an annual basis), including amendments/updates, suspensions, run-outs and closures, should be manageable from the application.\u202f \nAn ability to manage courses run in combination with third party partners\u202fand accreditation bodies. \nAn ability to display course information in a map-like (matrix) format, for example: assessment map, learning outcomes map, etc. \nWorkflow Automation - Automated routing of approvals to relevant parties including notifications.\u202f \nWorkflow definition and configuration - to be assignable at course level.\u202f \nWorkflows should be configurable and usable to manage both initial development of courses and annual (or other) course review functions.\u202f \nVersion Control \u0026 Audit Trails - Full history of changes to courses/modules.\u202f \nReporting and changelog reports.\u202f \nDisplay, Search \u0026 Discovery - Easy retrieval of Course/module details for staff and students including search and filtering tools.\u202f \nIntegration:\nThe solution shall interoperate with course catalogue and/or UoP and external webpages to provide automatic updates to avoid manual data entry across different systems.\u202f \nSeamless data exchange with SITS.\u202f\u202f \nAbility to integrate with other platforms e.g. Drupal,  Moodle and a timetabling system.\u202f \n Non-Functional Requirements:\nSaaS infrastructure to minimise system support and maintenance liabilities.\u202f \nUsability - Intuitive user interface suitable for both academic and administrative users.\u202f \nAccessibility - Compliance with WCAG standards.\u202f \nPerformance - Fast data retrieval and response times.\u202f \nScalability - Support institutional growth and evolving curricula.\u202f \nSecurity \u0026 Data Protection - GDPR compliance, secure role-based access.\u202f \nReliability - High system availability (Uptime SLA TBC).\u202f",
