    "description": "The purpose of this project is to increase the Institute\u2019s sustainability (both environmental \u0026 financial), reduce carbon emissions and safeguard the steam supply to all buildings utilising steam generated at Pirbright.\nThis will be achieved by a combination of the following three factors:\n\u2022\tNew steam main \u0026 condensate recovery system to steam users currently served by the end of life Western Boiler House.\n\u2022\tRemoval of inefficient and end of life Western Boiler house \u0026 increasing load on the currently underutilised, efficient, EC1 steam generation plant by 450kWh (585 kg/hr).\n\u2022\tUpgrading 2 of 4 EC1 steam boilers with burners capable of 10:1 turndown ratio to enable more efficient operation at low production rates during summer months.\nContract Scope\nThe contract is for a single supplier to act as the Principal Contractor and complete all works as follows:\n\u2022\tSupporting the Stage 4 design with client nominated designer and Project Manager \n\u2022\tSupply and Installation of EC1 steam boiler burners (x2).\n\u2022\tSteam connection \u0026 packaged steam \u2013 LTHW interface to Engineering workshop \n\u2022\tEnabling works for new steam \u0026 condensate return connections located on EC1 steam distribution and WBH. \n\u2022\tSupply and installation of steam and condensate equipment. \n\u2022\tFacilitate installation \u0026 commissioning of EC1 boiler burner replacements.\n\u2022\tSupply and installation of new steam connection \u0026 condensate return including all required equipment.\n\u2022\tDeliver a phased changeover of steam delivery from the WBH to the newly installed connection fed from EC1. \n\u2022\tDecommission, removal and disposal of WBH and associated redundant equipment. \n\u2022\tDisconnection and isolation of gas, compressed air and mains water. \n\u2022\tCommissioning and handover including Project Information Folder (PIF) is provided to the client Project Manager.",
