A Direct Award to the incumbent supplier is required to ensure continued provision of essential water supply and sewerage services, whilst a new procurement exercise (currently underway) is completed and supplies transferred to a new supplier.  The direct award arrangements ensure continued provision of essential water supply and sewerage services to critical corporate Council sites, schools (those utilising the corporate arrangements) and non-residential Housing managed sites \u2013 which would not be able to operate without water supply.  It should be noted that the detailed arrangements commenced on the 1 July 2025 to ensure the required continuity of essential water supply and sewerage services.",
