"procurementMethodRationale": "In accordance with Schedule 5, Section 7, this award is for repeat services in the provision of a Meter Data management Solution, where it is critical that the solution is compatible with the current configuration of United Utilities metering technology. Itron are the incumbent provider and due to the current roll out of smart metering the cost of change any change of Meter Data Management system would be disproportionately high due to the added technical complexity of the concurrent change. The two year term of the award will allow sufficient time for the smart metering technology to be embedded before undertaking market engagement for a future solution.",
