    "description": "The Trust delivers Radiotherapy from the Beacon Centre at Musgrove Park Hospital. There are three Linacs and three bunkers. A Linac replacement programme is due to commence in late 2028, during which the three Linacs will be replaced in turn. In order to preserve service continuity, an additional bunker is required so that there will be decant space as Linacs are replaced. The new bunker will house a Linac to enable replacement of the others to commence, and it may be that at the end of the replacement programme one of the existing bunkers may be left empty as a decant space. Maintaining service continuity is vital to the quality of care we can give to our patients. The design of the Linac bunker must take into account not just the clinical needs of the Radiotherapy service, but also the needs of adjacent services and/or those likely to be impacted during the construction phase.
