Independent third-party organisations,\ncalled conformity assessment bodies (CABs), have been authorised by DSIT to conduct conformity\nassessment activities in this area as part of a pilot. The pilot process is expected to conclude this year, as\nCABs obtain \u2018accreditation\u2019 from the UK Accreditation Service.\nThe purpose of this is to provide independent assurance activities that will help DSIT and CABs continuously\nimprove the certification scheme and connected processes, and to support implementation of changes as\nrequired.",
