Description

The aim of the IV therapy and Bisphosphonates service is to enable Stockport patients aged 18 years and over who are medically stable to safely receive intravenous therapy in a community health care setting or the patient's own home for selected frail and housebound patients, thereby reducing avoidable hospital admissions and facilitating early hospital discharge. To provide timely access to assessment, treatment and care which is safe and effective to manage patients requiring IV therapy in the community. 5. Following clinical assessment and where capacity permits to offer IV hydration therapy for the treatment of dehydration. A management plan will be in place to help avoid hospital admission. 6.
