Description

Provider Selection Regime Intention to award a contract to an existing provider following the direct award process C.<br/><br/>Existing 10 bed Block Purchase.<br/><br/>Adult and Older Adult Acute inpatient Mental Health beds provide a bed-based, specialised assessment and treatment service for individuals who require an admission for the treatment of an acute mental illness for whom a community service is not a viable option and who have been assessed as requiring admission following a gatekeeping assessment. The majority of people will be formal admissions under the Mental Health Act.<br/><br/>The service will be delivered using therapeutic and evidence-based recovery principles.<br/><br/>The service will:<br/><br/>Offer assessment and treatment within a setting that respects individual rights and allows assessment and treatment to occur in the least restrictive manner possible.<br/>Provide a standard of treatment and care that respects a person’s right to privacy and dignity, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for those at the most acute and vulnerable stage of illness.<br/>Include the views of the service user and relevant carers in assessments, treatment/care plans, risk management plans, and discharge planning arrangements.<br/>Co-produce care plans with the service users, carers/family/friends (as the service user wishes), promoting self-management approaches within the inpatient setting.<br/>Focus on enabling the service user to return to the community as soon as possible, prioritizing what is needed for a safe discharge from the point of admission.<br/>Adhere to processes driven by the principles of the SAFER bundle for patient flow, including the agreed Predicted Date of Discharge and Clinical Criteria for Discharge.
