    "description": "The provision of Defra\u2019s Noise Modelling System (\"NMS\") software and live service support including management, maintenance, hosting and development of the NMS in England, with optional use for Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland.\nThe purpose of this Contract Award Notice is to announce Defra\u0027s intention to enter into a contract for provision of the NMS with Noise Consultants Limited (NCL) for 3 years, with the option to extend by a further year, at a total maximum cost of \u00a312m (net of VAT) over the maximum 4 year term.\nThe core capabilities required for this Contract are:\n\u2022 to provide IT service management and hosting for the NMS; \n\u2022 to continue to provide licensing of necessary software and datasets required to run the NMS; and\n\u2022 to deliver an updated set of noise modelling calculations and datasets.\nThe contract also includes the optional capability:\n\u2022 to introduce NMS enhancements;\n\u2022 to migrate the existing NMS into Defra\u0027s cloud hosting tenancy; and\n\u2022 for other public bodies to utilise the NMS.",
