The project is expected to involve either a complex major refurbishment of the existing asset, or in-situ demolition, or part demolition with replacement, subject to design development and option appraisal.\nKey drivers and constraints\n\u2022Complex building fabric and interfaces with adjacent/connected buildings.\n\u2022Building safety and fire strategy considerations from the outset.\n\u2022Uncertainty over the final solution, affecting cost confidence, assumptions and scope definition.\n\u2022Live campus constraints (students, staff, noise, access, communications).\n\u2022Need for robust cost planning, benchmarking and risk/contingency development across RIBA Stages 1\u20134, with a clear gateway at the end of Stage 2 to confirm the preferred option and delivery route.\nScope of requirement\nThe Cost Consultant will provide cost management and commercial advice to support option appraisal, design development, procurement and delivery.
