    "description": "The Regional Information System for Oncology and Haematology (RISOH) is critical regional system for Northern Ireland Cancer Services. The system provides invaluable information for clinicians in the monitoring and planning of patient\u0027s cancer treatment. Varian Medical Systems provide 24/7 maintenance and support for the RISOH system. If this system is not supported and maintained there would be a significant risk to patients\u0027 welfare and no electronic method of recording the patient\u0027s cancer journey.\nBusiness Services Organisation previously direct awarded \u00a3624,777 to Varian for for RISOH Support and maintenance.\nIt is our intention to complete a further Direct Award to the value of \u00a3550,000. We wish to enter into a Contract until 31st March 2029. It is expected that there will a replacement system in place by the 31st March 2029.\nThis notice has been publish to replace a previous notice which we have been unable to link -  ocds-h6vhtk-04e938.",

Due to the complexity of the system, there are no other providers who could provide this system within the time frame. Replacing the system or support contract would lead to a risk to patient safety.\u200b The system is due to be replaced by the end of this Contract.\nWe wish to reply on schedule 5 section 5 (a) due to Varian having the intellectual property rights.  They are the only supplier able to provide the services.",
