        "description": "NHS Northamptonshire Integrated Care Board (NICB) is inviting tenders from suitably qualified and experienced providers for a Community Eye Care Services in Northamptonshire to deliver a high quality, integrated safe and patient centred eye screening service utilising the available optometric skills within the community. NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands CSU (AGCSU) is acting as an agent for and on behalf of NICB and is supporting this Provider Selection Regime Competitive Process. \u003cbr/\u003eThe service will include:\u003cbr/\u003ePostoperative Cataract Follow ups\u003cbr/\u003e\u2022\tA post-operative assessment following cataract surgery to be performed by optometrists in optical practices for those people who have uncomplicated surgery and no significant comorbidities specifically requiring a hospital post-operative assessment (i.e. most patients). \u003cbr/\u003e\u2022\tThe outcome and dataset required to complete the NOD cataract audit is reported to the surgical provider, as recommended by NICE NG77 and GIRFT. \u003cbr/\u003e\u2022\tPatients with low-risk post-operative issues to be managed by their optometrist \u003cbr/\u003e\u003cbr/\u003eHydroxychloroquine Screening\u003cbr/\u003e\u2022\tAnnual screening of all Northamptonshire patients prescribed Hydroxychloroquine or Chloroquine and at risk of retinopathy.\u003cbr/\u003e\u2022\tWhere appropriate, onward referral to HES including all diagnostic findings.\u003cbr/\u003e\u003cbr/\u003eStable Glaucoma Monitoring \u003cbr/\u003e\u2022\tAnnual monitoring of a fixed cohort of patients diagnosed by the HES as low risk of contracting Glaucoma. \u003cbr/\u003e\u2022\tWhere appropriate, onward referral to HES including all diagnostic findings.\u003cbr/\u003e\u003cbr/\u003eThe contract will be for a period of 3 years with the option to extend for up to a further 2 years, commencing 1st August 2026.\u003cbr/\u003e\u003cbr/\u003ePlease note there is a financial threshold associated with this procurement.
