The project will undertake research in support of a MMO initiative aimed at providing technical assistance to the Government of Belize. The purpose of the project is to set out a costed Roadmap and Terms of Reference (ToR) for reinstating the Managed Access Committees (MACs), with sustainable and long-term practices in place, in which the government and fishing communities will be re-engaged in an accessible and inclusive way to help rebuild trust, sustain livelihoods and strengthen stewardship in Belize’s fisheries.
